GP PRO Sustainability Platform: Three Pillars for Reducing Environmental Impacts

At Georgia-Pacific (GP PRO), sustainability is fundamental to everything they do. GP PRO’s approach to sustainability is not just about reducing their environmental footprint; it's about innovating, producing products that customers value and finding new ways of meeting needs and driving conservation activities. GP PRO’s sustainability framework defines 3 pillars and accompanying strategies: Source Responsibly, Responsible Manufacturing and Distribution, and Reduce Waste.

At Georgia-Pacific (GP PRO), sustainability is fundamental to everything they do. GP PRO’s approach to sustainability is not just about reducing their environmental footprint; it’s about innovating, producing products that customers value and finding new ways of meeting needs and driving conservation activities. GP PRO’s sustainability framework defines 3 pillars and accompanying strategies: Source Responsibly, Responsible Manufacturing and Distribution, and Reduce Waste.

Source Responsibly: Making the Most of Every Fiber

At Georgia-Pacific, they work to use resources efficiently, source responsibly, protect endangered areas, and support wildlife conservation and biodiversity. It is all part of GP PRO’s commitment to helping maintain healthy forests for generations to come. Georgia-Pacific makes thoughtful choices about materials used to make their products. For instance, GP PRO’s tissue, towel, and napkin products employ an extensive use of recycled fiber, culminating in over 500,000 tons of recovered paper saved from ending up in landfills in 2023. Furthermore, GPO PRO works with suppliers and non-governmental organizations to conserve and protect water, restore vulnerable wildlife habitats and ensure there are flourishing forests for future generations.

Pacific Blue Ultra® towels are made of recycled material.

Responsible Manufacturing and Distribution – Efficiency Redefined

GP PRO’s sustainable manufacturing practices and a streamlined distribution network are designed to cut energy consumption and reduce emissions through more efficient truckloads, route optimization, and more sustainable methods of transportation. GP PRO thoughtfully designs its products to help use fewer resources in manufacturing and shipping. For example, Compact® Coreless Recycled Toilet Paper is designed so you can use nearly 100% of the toilet paper and help eliminate stub roll waste. Furthermore, the absence of coreless rolls results in a higher number of sheets per case and increased sheet capacity on each truck. That can mean fewer trucks on the road, helping to avoid emissions associated with shipping their products to their customers. GP PRO’s toilet paper refill options help save up to 95% in packaging waste compared to their standard roll refills by eliminating stub-rolls, corrugate cores, paper roll wraps and outer cardboard shipping boxes.

Every case of Compact® Coreless Bath Tissue saves up to 7.8 lbs. of waste when compared to using a case of Georgia-Pacific 2-ply standard roll toilet paper.

Reduce Waste: Controlled Dispensing for Sustainable Consuming

GP PRO’s innovative, controlled dispensing solutions help their customers use and waste less, saving them time and money while reducing environmental impacts. For example, the Pacific Blue Ultra® Automated Paper Towel Dispenser provides one-at-a-time dispensing which helps reduce towel usage and helps customers be more efficient in their operations by extending maintenance intervals. Likewise, by dispensing 99% of their contents, enMotion® soap and sanitizer refill bottles help reduce waste and are 100% recyclable.

Reduce paper towel usage by 25% when you switch from multifold to Pacific Blue Ultra® towels.
